The University came into existence in 2010 through the merger of the two oldest higher education institutions the 7th October University of Misurata and Almergab University. Misurata University is one of the Libya's great Universities of learning and discovery with campuses in 8 cites. We invite you to visit us at any time—in person or through this site—and explore the life of our campuses. Misurata University is indeed well known for the strength of its faculties, where its 55,500 students learn to lead and serve not only through a strong academic curriculum but also by participating in a host of extracurricular activities from athletics to community service. The University carries on its education and research on the graduate level in the faculties of Arts, Science, Engineering, Law, Medicine and Economy. The University is home to one of the great libraries in the city with more than 150,000 volumes. Misurata University, The Future Building Misurata University is a long-term project. We have been doing it for 27 years and we’re still at it – to deliver new and improved facilities to create the best possible learning, teaching and research environment to meet our present needs to take us dynamically into the
future. Misurata University buildings not only reflect who we are and what we do, they also link us to our past, tell us stories of our past, mark the evolution of our growth, and mirror our hopes and dreams. 7th October University is in a period of gr owth and change and our building projects are designed to keep up with our needs.
